Bach Flower Remedies For Dogs
Pets are our true companions and are not detached from the stresses, strains and emotions we are experiencing. As they are feeling with us, or sometimes taking on our feelings, it is possible that they can be suffering quietly for many years. They either withdraw, become depressed and despondent or agitated and nervous. In some cases the animal will begin showing aggressive behaviour or become ill.
From the early days of discovering the healing potential of flowers, Dr Bach saw that his 38 remedies would benefit not just humans, but all living creatures.

Testimonial: National Animal Welfare Trust
PreviousAgnes is a member of the volunteer group at the National Animal Welfare Trust (NAWT) in Watford for which I am the manager. The background and behavioural issues with the animals in our care vary greatly. As a Bach Flower Animal practitioner, Agnes works with some of the dogs and cats that are finding it particularly difficult to come to terms with their traumatic past and with coping at the centre. The flower remedies are helping to alleviate fears, anxiety and traumatic experiences. As soon as the drops are administrated we notice positive changes with most of the animals. They are able to relax more and members of staff find it easier to work with them. As they begin to feel more at ease it helps to speed up the adoption process too. Once an animal that has been on the Bach Flower remedies is adopted, we do recommend that the new carers continue with the remedies until their pet has settled in with them. It is a great asset to any animal shelter to have a qualified Bach Flower practitioner in the team.

As well as prescribing the Bach flower remedies, Agnes would sometimes make suggestions and offer helpful tips for how I might better manage Bruno’s little outbursts. At home, Bruno is much calmer and able to sleep inbetween his walks and play. When he still sometimes gets over excited on walks, I have been, and continue to try to calm him with a soft voice and firm hand, sometimes putting him on the lead for a short while, before letting him run again. I would thoroughly recommend Agnes as a Bach flower remedy practitioner. She has a gentle and deep connection to animals, and is able to tap into their needs combining fine intuition with a breadth of knowledge.

Our Boxer dog, Mitchell was hit by a car. Fortunately he sustained only minor injuries which the vets dealt with but it had made him very nervous. Because I have had success with Bach remedies in the past I took him to see Agnes. She has an affinity with animals and he was immediately relaxed with her and responded very quickly. After just three visits he had got his confidence back and was his normal, healthy self.

Does your dog give you problems?
Dear reader, throughout my writing I have used the female gender but in all cases she refers to he and she, and her to him and her.
There is no doubt that because you are browsing through this website you have an interest and love for animals. You may be a carer of one or more dogs. Most of us dog owners certainly set out to give them a wonderful home, take care of their wellbeing (which includes good veterinary care), plenty of walks, good food, and helping her to socialise.
All these issues are not only making the dog’s life a misery but your’s and that of your family as well. This cannot be underestimated as it is potentially a reason for a very stressful home situation, or in the worst case scenario re-homing might be considered.

It is not uncommon of owners to share stories about their animals: how they sense certain atmospheres, relate to particular people, mourn the loss of a family member, sometimes alert us to danger, or feel lonely and depressed. The range of their feeling-life is not only similar to ours as human beings but is in some way extremely refined.
There are well known cases about a dog that alarms the person who’s blood sugar level is about to drop dangerously low www.diabetes.co.uk/hypo-alert-dogs.html or of a parrot sensing the positive or negative news in a letter his owner is about to open www.sheldrake.org/research/animal-powers/the-nkisi-project.

Due to their supersensitive nature, animals respond very well to the Bach Flower Remedies (BFRs). They have the ability to bring greater harmony, happiness and emotional health, in times of distress and trauma.

When should I consult a Bach Flower Animal Practitioner?
As soon as you notice a change in your pet’s behaviour or when you sense she is out of balance I advise you contact a BFAP. Chances are that your pet has been trying to deal with an issue for some time on her own but was not able to resolve it.
Are the BFRs suitable for all animals?
The BFR’s are very safe to take. They can be given to all animals, from a very young age to the very elderly. They are hypoallergenic, drug and chemical free. Four drops from a treatment bottle are simply put on a little food then given to the animal.
Do the BFRs have side effects?
The BFRs are 100% natural and totally free from any negative side effects. The amount of pure flower essence contained in each remedy is very small. Each stock bottle, ie the type you buy in a health food store or from the Bach centre, contains just two drops of the flower petal water
